Gaziantep – M&E Officer-Stabilization


Position Location:  Gaziantep                  

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the M&E Coordinator, the M&E Officer-Stabilization is responsible for supporting the M&E Coordinator-Stabilization in overseeing program’s monitoring, evaluation and verifying activities and analyzing M&E outputs.

Reporting & Supervision:

M&E Office-Stabilization reports directly to the M&E Coordinator-Stabilization.  S/he will coordinate with the M&E Coordinator-Governance and the Statistical Analysis Officer.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review data quality and verification of reported data from the implementation team and partners/subcontractors;
  • Assist the M&E Coordinator-Stabilization and the MER Manager in the production of weekly and monthly program reports following the standard reporting format/scheme;
  • Systematically screen and crosscheck internal and external reports, situational reports, information and communication material for accuracy and consistency. Develop and coordinate regular highlight for internal distribution;
  • Conduct monthly outcome surveys with beneficiaries, partners and participating local and provincial councils;
  • Conducts monthly cross checks of inventory and other operational support through remote crosscheck and verification tools;
  • Prepare and systematically update information material (Fact Sheets, FAQs, backgrounders, data tables), briefings, and presentations on the situation in coordination with the MER Manager, M&E Coordinator-Stabilization, and the implementation team; and
  • Other monitoring and reporting duties may be added as the monitoring and reporting framework and structure is developed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience working independently and taking initiative;
  • +2 years of progressively responsible work experience in project M&E (remotely and/or in Syria);
  • Previous experience preparing professional reports in English;
  • Excellent inter personal and communications skills, including speaking, writing and analysis;
  • Native written and spoken Arabic;
  • Full professional English proficiency (speaking and writing); and
  • Knowledge of computer systems, internet navigation and various office applications.


Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Kurdish language skills a plus;
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and execute ideas, as well as impart knowledge and teach skills;
  • Previous experience interacting with local councils and/or Syrian civil society groups; and
  • Previous experience conducting research and assessments in Syria.
