Gaziantep – M&E Coordinator-Stabilization


Position Location:  Gaziantep

Position Summary:

Under supervision of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Research (MER) Manager, the M&E Coordinator is responsible for overseeing program’s monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities and analyzing M&E outputs. In addition to these core tasks, the candidate may be requested to provide reporting support as needed for the program.

Reporting & Supervision:

M&E Coordinator-Stabilization reports directly to the MER Manager.  S/he will coordinate with the M&E Coordinator-Governance and oversee Statistical Analysis Officer – a shared function resource.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop the program M&E activities, including, but not limited to, drafting activity sheets, budgets, POAs, and negotiation memos;
  • Manage the program M&E activities by tracking deliverables, activity expenses, equipment handover, and payment requests and coordinating with M&E partners during implementation;
  • Analyze M&E qualitative outputs such as outcome surveys and site visit reports, providing major takeaways for monthly dissemination;
  • Coordinate communications with partners and local councils as necessary to collect information for spot reports and lost equipment;
  • Compile and maintain the program master tracker for stabilization activities, as well as the outcome and training survey trackers; and
  • Selects respondents for the program monthly outcome surveys with beneficiaries, partners and participating local and provincial councils.
  • Oversees the remote verification of activities, equipment and other operational support.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Select monthly site visit locations for field monitors and partners and address any difficulties field monitors have contacting relevant parties on local councils;
  • Perform ad hoc translations as needed;
  • Ensure that all personal receipt/documentation meet Company standards;
  • Submit regular time sheets and travel expense reports for program related costs to ensure timely reporting of program operational expenses;
  • Maintain 100% accountability of all program provided equipment; and
  • Other activities, as directed by the MER Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences, or related technical field;
  • Demonstrable experience working independently and taking initiative;
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and execute ideas, as well as impart knowledge and teach skills;
  • +3 years of progressively responsible work experience in project M&E (remotely and/or in Syria);
  • Previous experience preparing professional reports in English;
  • Excellent inter personal and communications skills, including speaking, writing and analysis;
  • Native written and spoken Arabic;
  • Full professional English proficiency (speaking and writing); and
  • Knowledge of computer systems, internet navigation and various office applications.


Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Kurdish language skills a plus;
  • Previous experience interacting with local councils and/or Syrian civil society groups; and
  • Previous experience conducting research and assessments in Syria.
