The International Organization for Migration is seeking qualified Turkish Nationals for the following position based in Istanbul, Turkey.

General Functions:

Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission, IOM Turkey, and administrative supervision of Head of Sub Office IOM Istanbul, the overall technical supervision of the Regional Migration Health Assessments Coordinator for MENA region, in coordination with the Health Coordinator, Istanbul, the incumbent shall perform the following essential functions:


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform migration health assessments and complete related medical documentation of refugees selected for migration in accordance with the resettlement country’s Medical Examination Guidelines/Protocols for Immigrants and the IOM Migration Health Assessment
  2. Ensure and follow up in coordination with medical staff, data processing team and medical health unit, that the following activities are performed in accordance with the technical requirements of the resettlement countries:
  • Medical case registration
  • Medical treatment and follow up programs
  • Data Processing and management
  • Pre-embarkation medical examination of departing refugees
  1. Contribute to the analysis and technical elaboration of data gathered from the migration health
  2. Coordinate with the local/national health authorities, physicians, hospitals and laboratories, as
  3. Assist in the preparation, design, analysis and implementation of research activities related to the migration health, tuberculosis and sexually transmitted diseases.
  4. Assist in developing potential health and migration projects/programmes for the mission.
  5. Performing any other related duties that may be assigned by the direct supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Experience:



  • Medical Doctor, Bachelor’s Degree; valid medical licence to practice in Turkey.


  • Minimum three years continuous clinical working experience, preferably with experience in Migration, Health field.
  • Computer literacy is mandatory.



  • Turkish-fluent /written and spoken
  • English-fluent /written and spoken
  • Arabic is a strong

Only candidates residing in either the country of the duty station or from a location in a neighbouring country that is within commuting distance of the duty station will be considered. In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighbouring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
