Global Communities’ Office of Humanitarian Assistance (OHA) has developed a strategy for the organization’s response to the Syria crisis, anchored in a field presence.  Specifically, OHA is commencing responding directly in Syria, intensifying GC’s assistance to Syrian IDP’s. This will be done through an approach to programming where projects will be focused on the sustainability rather than relief delivery.

GC is a fully registered organization in Turkey and are currently building its humanitarian response professionals in Turkey.  GC intends to hire a Part-time Finance Assistant (SOW herein) to implement projects, while based in Gaziantep through humanitarian assistance programming.



GC is seeking a Part-time Finance Assistant to be based in Gaziantep.

The Part-time Finance Assistant reports to the Finance Officer.

The Part Time Finance Assistant is responsible for the following:

  • Archive and file all documents related to Finance Department.
  • Prepare invoices and all supported documents for each payment, translate, photocopy and scan them.
  • Perform calculations that support financial transactions used by more senior staff.
  • Prepare statutory payments and salaries.
  • Ensure that bills provided by the staff are compliant with the procedures.
  • Prepare the invoices for audits.
  • Follow up with concerned departments to accomplish payments, documents and missing invoices.
  • Ensure sequence and accurate numbering in Finance Dep. and Procurement Dep. “Vouchers,
  • Accounts Codes, Project Codes, QB software entries numbers, Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders, etc.”

Education, Training and Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Fresh graduate / current university students are also encouraged to apply.
  • Past volunteering or working experience with international donor funded programs is an advantage.

Technical and Personal skill:

  • High organizing skills.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Turkish.
  • Good command of excel.
  • Computer/word processing and standard office software skills.
  • Welling to learn and grow.
